Christmas message December 24, 2014

On this occasion of Christmas, I wish to seize this opportunity to urge Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the important attribute of love of country.

I am confident that if we can strengthen and deepen our love for our dear nation, there is no doubt that we can overcome most of the challenges that may appear to weaken our desire to attain true nationhood.

I urge all Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper for there is always strength in unity. Indeed, just as Christmas symbolizes the birth of a new beginning, I am resolute in my conviction that with renewed faith in our personal abilities, Nigeria will surely climb the mountain top to attain the position of eminence which she deserves.

Achievement, through hard work, brings its own joy. It does not come easy. It can only come after overcoming the challenges that test the resolve of the strong and the courageous. I am confident that if we rededicate ourselves to those virtues that bind rather than divide our people, surely the future will most certainly be bright.

Finally, I wish all Nigerians and indeed the entire global community a very merry Christmas.
